Vacancy- Human Resources Manager

The Guyana Post Office Corporation is seeking a competent, motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Human Resources Manager

Principle Accountabilities
Strategic Management
• Provide strategic advice to the Postmaster General on all HR Policies and best practices
• Provide HR advice and guidance on all people issues ensuring compliance with local laws, collective agreements and the achievement of business objectives
• Lead and develop HR Team to achieve organisation goals

Performance Management
• Manage Performance appraisal system
• Make recommendation for the award of increments payable upon the availability of resources
• Creates and reviews Succession Plan and staff forecasting for the organisation

Compensation and Benefits
• Conducts salary survey for benchmarking of wages and salaries
• Ensure that all functional areas of HR are executed effectively; Benefits, Leave, Recruitment, Separation, Compensation, performance Management, Training, Health and Safety, Industrial Relations

OTHERS
• Identify training needs
• Coordinates dialogue on social partnerships, including Union/Management relations
• Resolves grievance which may arise from time to time
• Analyze and update HR policies
• Controls employment cost in area such as sick leave, unpunctuality through prescribed strategies
• Sustain good employee relations and engagement
• Prepare and manage HR Budget
• Any other work-related duties assigned

Requisite Skills and Competencies
• Ability to take initiative and innovate
• Strong planning and organization skills
• Strong Communication and Leadership skills
• Industrial relations and negotiating skills
• Ability to lead and manage change
• Sound analytical skills

Qualification and Experience:
• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resource Management
• A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a related field
• Knowledge of Labour Laws
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
