The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) invites students aged 9 to 15 years from public and private schools nationwide to participate in the 54th International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People 2025.
Theme: “Imagine you are the ocean. Write a letter to someone explaining why and how they should take good care of you.”
- The original letter must be handwritten and may include illustrations from the participants. Entries must adhere strictly to the theme and not exceed 800 words.
- The following criteria will be used to assess the letters;
- Structure of the letter (address, salutation, body closure, signature, grammar and spelling)
- Adherence to the theme
- Creativity and use of language
- The top three participants at the local level will receive prizes. However, only the first-place winner’s entry will be submitted to the Universal Postal Union (UPU) for consideration in the international phase of the competition.
- Entries must be submitted via email to pro@guypost.gy or delivered to the nearest Post Office. Each entry should include the student’s name, school, and a contact number.
