The Guyana Post Office Corporation proudly introduces its reliable, and affordable cargo service from Guyana to Cuba, in partnership with Fly Allways airline. Starting February 12, 2025, persons can send packages, documents, and household items between Guyana and Cuba.
Customers are urged to refer to the images below for shipping regulations and a list of prohibited items.
Visit the Guyana Post Office Corporation Parcel Section located on Robb Street, Georgetown to initiate the process.
The GPO Parcel Section is open from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM and can be contacted on 226-1161. Customers can also contact our Customer Service Department on 225-7481 for more information.
When sending a Parcel: Customers must provide a valid Identification Card (Cuban Passport accepted), along with a valid Proof of Address (e.g., a recent utility bill —original copy or printout of digital mail issued within the last six months) and a copy of the recipient’s Identification Card.
RATES
If you are sending envelopes with documents, regardless of the weight, the shipping cost is USD $70.00, which is GYD $15,400.
The cost of shipping cargo depends on the weight of the package.
For Packages Weighing Up to 5 kg (11 lbs), the cost is USD $70.00 / GYD $15,400.
For packages Weighing Between 5 kg and 20 kg (11 lbs – 44 lbs), the following charges apply:
1. A base cost of USD$20.00 (GYD$4,400)
2. A per kilogram charge of USD$6.50 (GYD$1,430)
3. An additional handling charge of USD$1.50 (GYD$330) per kg for processing in Cuba.
For packages Weighing Over 20 kg (More than 44 lbs) the charges are slightly different:
1. A base cost of USD$35.00 (GYD$7,700)
2. A per kilogram charge of USD$7.50 (GYD$1,650)
3. An additional handling charge of USD$1.50 (GYD$330) per kg for processing in Cuba.
