The Buxton Post Office was, on Monday, October 9th, 2023, officially commissioned as part of the Guyana post Office Corporation’s (GPOC) celebrations for World Post Day.

The facility was recently rebuilt with convenience of senior citizens and persons living with disabilities in mind who depend on our services.

During a simple ceremony, several members of staff were honored for their outstanding performance during the past year as well as winners of the local leg of the Universal Postal Union’s International Letter-Writing Competition.

Bursary awards were also presented to children of staff members who performed well at the 2023 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination.

Present at the event was Honorable Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Anthony Phillips, Postmaster General, Ms. Karen Brown, Deputy Postmaster General, Ms. Tiffani Williams and Director of Financial Services, Ms. Nichola James.
