Vacancy- Area Manager
The Guyana Post Office Corporation is seeking a competent and motivated individuals to fill the position of Area Manager.
Principle Accountabilities:
- PROVIDES advice and guidance to direct reports: Postmasters
- OVERSEES Post Office within assigned areas
- ENSURES that Post Offices follow the Corporation guidelines and achieve all its goals
- COMMUNICATES local concerns to senior management
- IDENTIFIES training needs for staff under your control
- CONDUCTS operational and financial audits on a monthly basis and when required at Post Offices under your control
- PROVIDES process training and coaching to employees who are taking up new job positions
- ASSISTS in the review of Postal Services
- ESTABLISHES and SUSTAINS good relations with community and stakeholder (example, REOs, Station Sergeants, and Faith Base Leaders etc)
- COLLABORATES with International Affairs and Quality of Service Department to Conduct testing for quality of Service control and maintain other Quality of Service requirement
- MARKETS Post Office services to new and existing business
- REVIEWS mail delivery route and make recommendation for improving mail delivery
- MONITORS stock and cash levels on monthly basis
- CONDUCTS operation system review and oversee the implementation of approved changes made from the review
- COLLABORATES with customer Service department to ensure that optimum customer service is maintain
- PREFORMS any other related duties that may be assigned

Qualification/Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Public Management or equivalent plus three (3) years’ proven experience
OR
- Diploma in Business Management or Public Management with at least five (5) years’ proven experience
- Computer Literacy in Microsoft Applications
- Experience within the Postal Sector would be an asset
Key Performance Indicators
KPI 1: Ensure that 85% of mails processed per area are delivered within established delivery standards.
KPI 2: Undertake and report on at least three (3) Bulk Postage customer outreach on a monthly basis.
KPI 3: Conduct complete financial and operational audits at 70% of the offices in your Area on a monthly basis.
